Our next story is a non-fiction photo essay all about Yosemite National State Park, located in California.  It's actually in Northern California, not too far from San Francisco which we learned about when reading Grandfather's Journey.

Grandfather's Journey, Second Week of Spelling

We have been reading the story Grandfather's Journey, by Allen Say for the last week!  It is a story about a young, brave man who travels to America from his native Japan.  He eventually moves back to Japan, but his grandson carries on his legacy by moving to America, too!
