Lewis and Clark and Me Spelling

Good morning 4th graders!

For the next two weeks, we will be learning about the expedition of Lewis and Clark.  You might have heard of them before and their famous trip west across the United States.  However, our story this week will be told from a unique point of view!  (You might even be able to make some connections to our last story, Because of Winn Dixie).

You may watch the short video from School House Rock about Lewis and Clark.  After the video, click this link to work on Spelling City practice activities.  Be sure to choose the correct link for you!

Because of Winn Dixie Spelling

We use this blog in our classrooms to help you find activities online that will help your learning.   Sometimes, you will visit websites.  Sometimes you will get to watch short videos that relate to what we are learning in class.

Today, you will visit a website called Spelling City which has practice activities and games to help you learn your spelling words.  First, you will take a practice test.  After the test, you will report your errors to your teacher and practice the words.  After all of this is done, you may play one o the games on Spelling City that uses your words.

Remember to focus and concentrate on studying.  You will have a spelling test on Friday!

Paper Bag Book Reports

Good morning, 4th graders!

For the rest of the school year, our reading project will be "Paper Bag Book Reports." You have (hopefully) chosen a story to read and you and your group members will be creating a book report project to present to our class.

You can watch an example of a Paper Bag Book Report on the video below.

After you watch the video, visit Spelling City to practice your spelling words.  Choose the list that matches the story you will be reading for the book report.

The Lost City

Have you ever heard of Macchu Picchu?  That's pronounced like "MA-CHU PI-CHU".  This is a very special place located in Peru, a country in South America.  Macchu Picchu is considered to be a "lost city." It has an amazing history, and then one day, it was just gone!

Watch the video below to learn a little more about Macchu Picchu.  After the video, visit Spelling City to practice your words for this week.  Remember to choose the list that's right for you!
